Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project
I chose to have amazon fire tablets as my project because one of our school wide goals is student led data collection. This school year, I worked with my students to create their own "Smarty Pants" folders to show what they have learned. My students are very proud of what they have learned and are eager to show their Smarty Pants folders to any visitor in our classroom.

Data drives our classroom instruction. It shows us what concepts students have already grasped and where they need a little more support.
The goal for our project is for students to collect their own data and be able to articulate their progress to parents and staff. Having students collect and analyze their own data allows them to see the correlation between their work ethic and scores. In kindergarten, this task may not seem achievable from the outside, but I promise you my kindergartners are little sponges and are able to take and excel any task thrown their way.
