I have 25 amazing students in a Title I School. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Many of them are being raised in single-parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical". From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives. However, I can certainly control their experience during the school day.
I have many students that have a difficult time with pencil and paper curriculum and I would like them to have the technology and digital curriculum to help them learn and make it less stressful for them to complete.
My Project
My students need gift cards from Teachers Pay Teachers so that we are able to purchase digital activities and hands-on activities that can be used to increase engagement. In this day and age, so many teachers are in their classroom doing wonderful things that can help others. These gift cards will allow us to access these wonderful things while giving me the time to work on individual instruction and implementation.
Learning from others in the classroom is a wonderful way to learn.
These gift cards will show my students that teachers learn from one another as well. In addition, the resources purchased with this product will allow both math and ELA class to have access to station activities, games and digital curriculum to increase student achievement.
