Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are special education and EL students and are from an economically-challenged, urban community. My students face many learning challenges in school on a daily basis. Not only do they have specific learning needs but many of my students come from non-English speaking homes. Last spring my students especially struggled with remote learning. Since my district will be doing remote learning again this fall, I want to make their learning environment as comprehensive and interactive as possible!
My Project
I learned a lot about my students in the remote environment this past spring. It was difficult for them to stay focused and demonstrate their knowledge in a remote setting. It was challenging to communicate with my younger students in meaningful and familiar ways. This technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and stay focused while learning remotely!

Learning in a remote environment can be a challenge. This is especially challenging with special education students who are also English Language Learners. My students struggle in this environment because they need support throughout the learning process.
I am hoping to provide a classroom that can communicate with them clearly, (headphones) in a familiar setting (the drawing board will be my whiteboard from the school), and we can work on papers together as we did in class. (with the document reader).
