My Students
I teach 23 students each day. They are always smiling and ready to learn. The majority of my students live in poverty. I also teach a number of students who are English Language Learners.
My students use technology every day.
They are growing up in a technology driven society. My goal is to help them become better digital citizens while also learning our curriculum. A percentage of my students do not have access to technology at home, so it is imperative they learn these skills at school.
My Project
My students love using technology to learn. We use multiple technology platforms to help our students develop the skills they need to become college and career ready.
They feel as if they’re simply having fun, but what they are really doing is learning!
This iPad will help us use one of our favorite platforms, Nearpod. This is a website that has a library of interactive lessons. Each lesson has an interactive component that allows the student to show what they have learned. The teacher can then check all the responses. Having a new iPad will help us use this awesome website in our classroom.
The iPad will also help us use Accelerated Reader, where the students can take comprehension quizzes on books they have read. Along with these two great platforms, it will also help us use Kahoot!, Freckle, Studyladder, Edgenuity, and many other great resources. If we had this iPad, it would allow my students to use each of these websites in the classroom.
