Help us enter the digital world! My students are eager and ready to try using technology to enhance their learning. The majority of my students have limited access to technology resources at home, so they must have those great technology resources at school.
I am the librarian at a small school with 150 students of varied and diverse backgrounds, which is nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina.
My students are enthusiastic learners and love to learn when we incorporate technology. Using technology to help motivate students to succeed, not only today, but to continue to be life long learners, is my passion.
My Project
My students need a digital camera and a SD card to create and store the many images they will make when creating student learning projects. Additional digital cameras will allow students to work in small groups during field trips. Instead of passive walk and talk field trips of field trips of old, my students will be responsible for taking images of important, relevant information. With these images, each group will create group and individual projects using Web 2.0 tools such as Photostory, Animoto, and Voki to make student driven learning projects. I also hope this will increase student technology knowledge and build confidence as 21st century learners.

I hope my students, beginning in kindergarten and continuing through fourth grade, will expect to use technology in their learning and harness the wonders that technology can bring to student learning.
