Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students are energetic and fun inner-city high school students.
My students have a range of disabilities including learning disabilities, visual impairments, autism, and intellectual disabilities. Many of them are also English Language Learners. My students show greater enthusiasm when learning is interactive, interesting, and collaborative. Due to virtual learning, it is imperative that students have access to high quality digital materials.They are motivated when they have access to a variety of resources and multi-sensory learning opportunities.
My school is located in a large urban city. Of the 3,100 students 94% are low-income, 10% of the students have disabilities, and 8% are English Language Learners. A majority of my students are low-income, have disabilities, and are English Language Learners. I teach my students not to let their personal home situations, English Language Learners status, or disabilities hinder their academic or social-emotional growth.
My Project
My students continuously face barriers that no young person should have to deal with. Whether it is understanding and accepting their disabilities, living through a pandemic while being low-income, being minorities in a time where they are affected by stereotypes, living in communities plagued by violence, or having unique living situations, my students face disadvantages.
My students deserve to have engaging classroom environments and resources to support motivation and multisensory learning styles.
Throughout our units, I would like students to experience a fun and interactive learning environment, even though it is not in-person. I am requesting Boom Card and Teacher Pay Teacher Digital resources to provide additional interactive support our class curriculum during virtual learning.
