This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Education for me is the key to success. I have been teaching for 25 years. Books are not the bible. I believe in the used of different resources. I like the children to do a lot of hands on reading, acting up, coloring, and show and tell. Children in my school are very poor. They do not have the resources other kids have. My school is 99% lunch free. I want to do so many things but I can't. Resources are limited. I cannot afford to pay for everything. I take a lot of pictures because I want the kids to be proud of their work and see the steps taken in every single activity. In March I'm planning a big learning fair project. This year we made a double-decker bus. It came out in two different newspapers. I spent a lot of money over $400.00 on one single project. The upcoming school year, 2005-06 will be a big project. I want to be able to video tape everything. This fair is for the last week of March. I need a 3 CCD digital camera with a little screen. I want to teach my kids to do video and editing with the IMovie software package. They will enhance their listening skills, as well as speaking the English language. The reading will improve because they will have to read and research about the topic. I said improved in all areas because my kids are all Spanish speaking with one year or less in the country. I appreciate if this project is funded. My class needs your help. Thanks
