I am a passionate preschool teacher. I teach a diverse group students ages 4 and 5. Many of these students come from low-income families who face many different challenges on a daily basis. My goal is to provide a high quality education to prepare them for Kindergarten. To do this, I need a variety of materials to enhance their learning and give them experiences they would otherwise not receive.
My student’s are curious, creative and demonstrate a desire to learn through play.
While they are at school, my students receive a free breakfast, lunch and snack to help meet their basic needs so they are able to learn. It is my job to give them a variety of learning experiences so they can explore, grow and learn. Many materials used in my classroom are not available to them at home. I want to encourage my students to learn while having fun. I want to set them up for a successful life and love of learning.
My Project
Learning about dinosaurs is a favorite study from year to year. Watching my students’ excitement, inquisition, and concentration during this unit is so much fun for me as well.
These materials will help us really dig into our dinosaur study and bring our content to life.
My students will be able to dig themselves individually or in a field with their friends. They will also be able to practice mathematics skills as they count the dinosaurs.
With these materials we will be able to concentrate on so many learning skills at this age and it will all be during play.
