Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Kindergarten is the first year of traditional schooling. The goal in my kindergarten classroom is for students to learn social skills and fundamental basics of knowledge that will guide them through the next 12 or more years of school. Over half of my wonderful kindergarten students are learning English. Their diverse backgrounds make our classroom a wonderful place to be!
My rambunctious kindergartners are experiencing all the new thrills of school and are excited to learn new things each day.
My students come together each day with the same goal: to learn new things and create new friendships. They are excited about learning letters, numbers, and the foundations of reading and math!
My Project
Instead of just building words, matching numbers, and sorting colors, wouldn't you rather hunt for letters, words, numbers, and manipulatives as part of your learning? My students love the independence they have during language arts and math workstations. They have opportunities to apply their learning.
My students will use the sight word card game, addition games, sight word puzzles, learning locks, and droppers in the light table sensory bin and our new sensory table!
They will be able to hunt for these items and then make words and match numbers. They will also be able to sort things and use their fine motor skills by pinching with tweezers and droppers. They can use the light table pegs and board to create letters and numbers! Hands on learning is all 5 and 6 year old kids want. Please consider supporting my students learning experiences!
