This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many of our students come from an underprivileged background. Most of our students live in public housing and lack enriching experiences that peers from more affluent areas receive. Many students enter our school having little to no exposure to the basic fundamentals of literacy and math.

Many of our students are often performing one year behind their expected proficiency.

However, regardless of their needs, they are amazing students who are full of excitement and wonder, and are eager to learn!

My Project

In today's classroom I am trying to give my students as much knowledge they need to be able to dig deeper into books. There is so much more then what the author writes. I want to be able to have resources that will help me give the students the tools they need to use comprehension skills to get as much information as they can from their own thinking.

Being able to purchase resources from Teacher Pay Teachers will help me have resources that I can use to visually help the students SEE the text using inferencing, text to self connections or retelling.

They can also be put into online assignments that can be used at home to reinforce their learning.
