Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I am a teacher in a third grade classroom. My school is a Title 1 school and all the students get free lunches. When I began this year, there were not any third grade level library books in my room. I have slowly begun building a small differentiated library for my students, but would really like to start reading chapter books with them as a class. I am looking for someone to donate entire classroom sets of great chapter books. Any chapter books would be great as long as they range from third to forth grade levels. “Charlotte's Web” would be nice as well as the book titled "Holes" and any of the other thousands of titles out there. We have none and I know that the students would benefit from reading chapter books as a class. It would give us a real chance to dig deeper into the comprehension of literature. I have 25 to 30 students in a classroom each year. Several different titles would be great to have. Thank you, J. Hock
