My students need technology in the classroom. By having iPads and a classroom computer, they can be used to differentiate learning and meet a broad range of needs.
This is my first year at this school in Downtown Seattle. In my classroom I take pride in students coming to class and having fun while learning. By adding tools like technology to our classroom, students will be able to learn, and have tools that help them be successful and independent learners.
At my school 20 percent of our students are in transitional housing or homeless shelters.
Most of my students don't have the luxury of going home and using things like iPads or computers. That being said, I also have quite a few students who need extra support to guide their learning. My ideal use for having iPads and computers is so that students can use these tools to help expand their learning. My school has a very diverse background and is rich in culture.
My Project
I am requesting these technology tools so that my students can have access to technology in learning. My classroom currently has no technology for my students. I also am requesting a computer and iPads to help my learners who need extra support. There are so many great Apps out there that can support my English language learners, or my students who need extra support. By having this extra technology I can have students working on activities that help deepen their understanding and knowledge of concepts.
By getting these donations to help support our classroom, my goal is to help students understand and be able to use technology.
I think that technology is important tool for students. I also think it will help students who don't get to use this technology at home because they can't afford it. When getting these donations my hope is students gain a love and understanding of technology.
