This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a music teacher, I'm privileged to be teaching music to the hardest working kids on a daily basis. When given challenges and high expectations, my students have risen up to the task and achieved their goals.

I teach at a Title I school in Nevada where a high percentage of students come from bilingual homes and receive free lunch.

Although many students face difficult situations in their lives, they are willing to work above and beyond to achieve their musical dreams. We have some very talented students who are going to some of the top schools in the state to take their talents to the next level.

My Project

These tablets are going to be game-changers in teaching and differentiating music learning. They will provide students with the opportunity to learn by practicing instead of writing on their sheet music.

With these tablets, I will be able to differentiate teaching by providing students who are at low music reading levels an opportunity to read without pressure and practice their note reading abilities.

Students will be able to work on music theory and music history. The tablets will also help in providing alternatives to in-class testing, particularly benefiting students that have special needs. Students who are shy or have difficulty learning will have an additional aid to provide privacy and opportunities without being embarrassed. This is truly to empower special needs students.
