My classroom consists of 21 low-income/high poverty students that are enthusiastic, creative, warmhearted, humble, and eager to learn. Everyday my students look forward for a productive and challenging day. They work hard and never give up. They all have different needs but they are always willing to learn and excel in becoming great leaders.
They all love hands-on activities, engaging projects, and challenges that allow them to think critically.
I want my students to meet their academic potential despite the obstacles they face on a daily basis. Our students are our future!
My students will use the iPad to research topics, complete assignments, use various educational apps, and other multimedia products across all subject areas. They will be able to use their creativity. Some of the technology apps they will be using to create digital products are Seesaw, Flipgrid, and Green Screen (Doink). They will share their completed assignments to Seesaw or Flipgrid and keep a digital portfolio of all their work to share what they have learned with their parents.
With the lack of technology in my class, my students are limited to only one iPad and they have to wait to take turns.
We currently have only one desktop and one iPad in our class. This iPad will allow more students to use it without waiting too long to create independent and collaborative projects. This iPad will give more opportunities for my students to be engaged in learning. I want to provide my students with a meaningful learning environment. All students deserve the best learning environment to be successful.
