Ms. Jacinto from Gary IN is requesting flexible seating through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need to have flexible seating options to help them wobble, wobble, wobble their way to success in a fun, engaging environment!

I'm a firm believer in keeping the focus on what's really important: THE STUDENTS. The BIG 26 is the number of students I am blessed to have in my fourth-grade classroom this year. I want my students to have an exciting place to learn this school year where they can be engaged! To see that some classrooms look the same now as they did 70 years ago is shameful. The students we share our classrooms with don't know life without constant connectivity, wi-fi, and a global audience. Outside the windows of our classroom is a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing world full of choices. My students come from all walks of life, however, more than half our school population is receiving free or reduced-price lunch. A lot of my students face difficult challenges out of the classroom, so I want them to have a safe/fun space they can count on while at school.
Flexible classrooms give students a choice in what kind of learning space works best for them and help them to work collaboratively, to communicate, and to engage in the lessons at hand. It is the first step towards independent learning; rather than being told what to do, or in this case where to sit, children have the opportunity to be given a choice. Having multiple options in flexible seating such as the flex wobble stool, the balance ball, and the wobble cushion allows students to have a choice which is HUGE. It allows them to solve problems and become more proactive learners as they age.
