Mrs. Farrell from Buffalo NY is requesting books through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need differentiated literacy materials to enhance their learning areas. This includes book bins, readers and vocabulary cards.

My students need a lot of love, care and support from teachers. Our school is in a poverty stricken area, where many students do not have necessary supplies or tools they need to succeed. Building a warm, safe, inviting classroom community and environment is so important for my students.
My students are kind, caring, and ready to learn.
They are continuing to learn how to best communicate with friends and prevent bullying in our classroom. Classroom community is still something we are continuing to build throughout the year, not just in our class, but school-wide. We also strive to provide differentiated, culturally-responsive instruction, and need more resources to do that.
I hope to receive support from DonorsChoose in order to help my students get necessary supplies, create a sense of community, safety and comfort in my classroom, as well as help my students create long lasting memories to help them connect positively to school. I appreciate your support in helping my students get what they need, learn, and grow.
This year, our school has closed and reopened under a new name with new expectations for teachers and students. We are moving toward a center/area based model, in which students are to be in differentiated literacy groups on a daily basis. However, we do not have many materials we need to help students be most successful.
Having these book bins, leveled readers/text, as well as vocabulary activities will help make their learning areas rich, and thus, promote their literacy skills.
With these materials, each student will be able to have their own bin to store their reading and writing materials, give them a chance to choose books based on interest and skill level, and provide them with more opportunities to expand and improve their vocabulary.
