Differentiated Instruction With LEGO Bricks!

My Students

I teach in Georgia at a public school. The school is a Choice School that includes two classrooms of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Students are provided opportunities to participate in project-based learning throughout the school campus.

STEM learning is engaging, interactive, and collaborative.

Students with ASD often need to practice collaborative skills as well as how to navigate in a non-traditional learning environment that includes manipulative materials, movement, and exploration. My students are successful when given the tools along with the practice of proper use and expectations.

My students are active learners, and I enjoy the challenge to keep them engaged! My students are provided opportunities on and off campus to practice (generalize) skills learned in our classroom.

My Project

The materials provided will mirror those of their peers but within their instructional level. This will provide an opportunity to grow and learn over the 3 to 4 years that they will attend at The STEM Academy in Savannah, GA. We hope to provide the three levels so all our students can show success.

LEGO educational products will provide opportunities in the engineering courses to access the standards with their school peers.

The units allow students to practice teamwork and collaboration as they are introduced to STEM, coding, and robotics design as the complete the fun real world challenges.
