My northeastern Wyoming classroom is full of kind, energetic, and helpful students who enjoy learning. After a weekend or long break, they tell me how much they missed me and are excited to be back at school so they can learn more. Our public school has just under 500 students and is a Title I school with most of our students qualifying for and utilizing the free or reduced-price lunch program. We have four regular kindergarten classrooms and one kinder-boost classroom within our school.
My classroom is very diverse in its academic skills with students needing to be challenged because some in able to read chapter books and write full sentences, while others came in unable to name a letter or write their name.
Although they may be at different levels with various strengths and weaknesses, it's amazing to see the little family that has formed within our classroom's four walls. They are eager to help one another if a peer is having difficulty with something, they speak kind and encouraging words that are full of compliments, and they have such different personalities that make our classroom fun and enjoyable.
My Project
The Teacher Pay Teacher gift cards will allow me to purchase a variety of materials to meet the needs of higher and lower learning levels of my students. The materials will be used in our classroom and at home. For math, I will get materials for numbers, measurement, geometry, addition/subtraction. For reading materials, I'll get phonics, phonemic awareness, grammar, and writing skills.
These TPT materials will allow me to differentiate my teaching and give students various math and reading centers through hands-on games and technology learning activities.
