Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Each of my students is special in their own way. I am currently teaching in a District 75 school in a 6:1:1 setting with students who are eager to learn something new every day. Regardless of the challenges they have been faced with, they come to class willing and excited to put their best foot forward. Once you step foot into our classroom you can feel the love and respect they have for each other. They have gotten accustomed to turning to each other for help when necessary, building trust and confidence with each other.
My students have the potential to reach their goals and the aspiration to do so.
They are kind, loving, respectful and motivated. I want nothing more than to provide them with the opportunities to accomplish anything they set their mind to. With your help, our future generation can obtain materials necessary for growth. With your help, our students will be able to obtain materials that will assist in their learning. It is important to provide our students with different ways to grasp a topic because not every student learns the same. With the devices received from this project, know that each student appreciates it greatly.
My Project
This year I have been given a very diverse classroom in which I am grateful for. Some students are non-verbal but are able to point while other students are verbal. If provided with a Chromebook or tablet, our students can download programs that will assist with their learning and communication. There are certain applications that allow our non-verbal students to express themselves by simply pressing a picture.
Each student learns and expresses themselves differently and I just want them to have the opportunity to do so.
This technology will not only help in one area but in multiple subject areas. They will be able to do math, science, social studies and identify how to do research with this technology. They will be given the opportunity to express themselves in ways that they were unable to do before. Getting this project funded will make a difference for this year and years to come.
