My students need different sizes and options for seating while doing classroom work. These four hokki stools and six chair balls will give students several seating choices.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are constantly moving in my classroom. They are working at tables, sitting and laying on the floor and any other way they feel comfortable to learn. They would love to have Hokki stools and chair balls of different sizes to keep their little bodies moving and learning.
I have 36 kindergarten students in two sessions of kindergarten.
They are active and often have a difficult time focusing when their little bodies want to move. I have several students that are on Individual Education Plans (IEP) and have been identified with ADD/ADHD and other disorders. They come from diverse backgrounds and home environments where they don't have the opportunity to move around very much either inside or out. Our school is a Title One school where all students qualify for free breakfast and lunch.
My Project
My classroom currently has a one size fits all type of chair. They are too big for really small sized children with their feet dangling and too small for the really big students where their knees are almost touching the tables. We always have students falling off chairs and tilting backwards, sideways and forwards because they need to move. With Hokki chairs and chair balls in different sizes, my students will be able to find a comfortable place to learn and work, while still being able to move around. My tables are adjustable, so I will be able to raise and lower my tables for the different sizes of chairs.
Providing students with different options of seating will add to their ability to focus and learn.
They will be able to find a seat that will fit their body size and also allow them to move as they need to while working. Comfortable children, make happy children that are more able to focus and ready to learn.
