My students need alternative ways to learn by choosing the best learning spot for them. Flexible seating allows them to have ownership of their learning.
My students do not have the chance to experience what others do. Some of my students come to school to experience projects, trips, and technology for the first time. I would like to be able to continue bringing those experiences to them.
Different, courageous, fun, and challenging- These are the words I would use to describe my classes.
My students are my purpose to teach.
I had the privilege of growing up in a school who brought in experiences to students who were low income like I was at the time. I want to be the teacher who is remembered by their students for bringing those experiences.
My Project
All students should feel comfortable where they are learning. Flexible seating allows students to pick a spot that works best for them. Stools and wobble chairs will help students who need to move or stand to stay focus. Students will be able to pick their seating based on their needs. When students have a choice in their learning environment, they are more willing to step out of their comfort zone and apply themselves.
Learning does not always look the same.
Learning is about finding what works for each student. We differentiate the way we teach for students. Why not let the students differentiate the way they learn?
