The Marching Band includes approx. 84 students this year, at a program that has been progressively expanding and growing since its inception in 2015. The extremely dedicated students have already held their own among the state's best bands.
Our students live by our band's mantra of improving every single day, on and off the marching field; their dedication, perseverance, and discipline astonish me to no end.
Each day, the Marching Band students push themselves to achieve far more than any of them, individually or collectively, could have imagined, and it's an honor and a privilege to help them attain and surpass the high expectations set by our Band.
My Project
This project will provide a much-needed set of tenor drum practice pads for the students of our school's Marching Band. The band has only existed for a few years, but already, we've been highly competitive in our region's marching band scene. Our students' incredible work ethic has produced amazing results; the Class of 2018 included one student who just started at the Berklee College of Music and another who marched with the 2018 Drum Corps International World Champions, Santa Clara Vanguard. This project will help our students reach even greater heights.
The Ahead Chavez Arsenal Tenor Pad with X-stand and mallets will allow our current AND future tenor drummers to take their skills to the next level and beyond.
The Chavez Arsenal provides many features that ensure the most authentic practice experience. Our band currently does not have tenor practice pads of any kind, so this would fill a critical need for our drumline, now and for many years to come.
