Help me give my students dictionaries. Their ability to build their vocabulary and write well will be considerably easier with a proper dictionary.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Over the summer, our district went through some redistricting changes, and we have welcomed many new children and staff to our building. The genuine hospitality has been inspiring.
I have a lively, hard-working bunch of 24 children.
There is an equal mix of boys and girls in my class and they are kind to one another. We're just getting to know each other, but I can already tell that they are eager to learn.
We are in need of dictionaries. I have 2 tattered, large ones. and a few feeble paperbacks.
My Project
A large portion of my class is building their English language, as their home language is Spanish. They need the opportunity to learn new words.
A gift of a dictionaries would be exactly that.
My plan is to teach them to locate new words and then use them in their writings and projects. In addition to definitions, a dictionary would provide a pronunciation guide. The model of teach, practice, and apply would be most beneficial...I will model choosing new words, use the pronunciation guide to say the word correctly, read the definition and then apply the new word to the assignment.
When challenged to build this skill....their oral and written language will flourish.
