Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help us learn new vocabulary! Students need exposure to different types of reference materials including dictionaries. We currently only have 3 which is not sufficient for the whole class to learn with.

My students are bright, enthusiastic 8 year olds who are eager to learn.

They attend a charter school in California. Our motto is that every student will attend college for certain. This is a motto that is unfamiliar to them due to the area in which they live in. We are certain that by increasing their knowledge of college all students will attend college 100%.

My Project

My students are always eager to increase their vocabulary. Often they are stumped by new vocabulary they hear in their shared reading. Unfortunately for them, they can't all grab a dictionary and look up the word. Having a class set of dictionaries will encourage the students to look up unfamiliar words and add it to their personal dictionary.

Donations to this project will not only help the students in this class increase their vocabulary, it will also help many other students who get to be students in my class.

Helping students get exposed to different types of reference materials like dictionaries will help them greatly.
