Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
2020 has turned our world of education upside down. We suddenly moved into a fully remote learning model for the last four months of the school year. The NYC DOE worked to get iPads & laptops to all students, and it was a long, drawn-out, frustrating process. Now that we are about to begin a new school year and with a crushed budget, we are left scrambling to obtain new devices for our new Pre-K and Kindergarten students.
Our beautiful school is located in Queens, NY, and was among one of the hardest-hit areas in NYC with respect to COVID and job loss.
Our teachers are dedicated, committed, and passionate about education and we serve our school communities with pride. But we are stuck. We need your help.
My Project
With our school community devastated by the pandemic and the struggling economy, our students need the technology imperative for a successful experience while learning at home.
This project will directly serve our students and families by supplying them with this technology.
Students will have a variety of learning experiences of all subject areas online through our learning platforms including live sessions with teachers to support a school community and children's social-emotional development.
It is our responsibility as a community to support the children who will grow into the future leaders of our community.
