Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work in a community that has over 50 percent low income families. Therefore, the resources are scarce for our school. However, the students are bright, eager, and intelligent; they are ready to discover something new everyday! They are curious and invested in their education.
This 1st grade class is a team of superheroes ready to read and develop their minds!
They are little stars waiting to discover the hero inside of themselves and of each other. I am determined to help these students learn and read so they are prepared for the world of knowledge that awaits them.
My Project
My 1st grade students get excited to pick up a good book and get their minds working. They love to read and share their connections and interests in the books they read.
These young minds need a leveled library so they learn what it means to pick the "right fit" book, fit just for them!
Organization and clarity are some great characteristics that will add to the quality of our classroom.
It is of my great interest to prepare these students, step by step, to progress and succeed in their schooling. A classroom library and improving their reading skills is my goal!
