My Project

This project will develop background knowledge for English language learners in the area of winter and snowflakes. This project will develop knowledge through fiction, non-fiction, photographs, and poetry.

For some of our learners, they have never experienced snow before.

These books will give them access to develop background knowledge about winter and snow. This background knowledge will lead to key understandings in science units. The goal for this project is to bring key understanding to our learners.

Key items in this project are books about how snowflakes form and the science behind them. The Snowflake Bentley book will provide insight into how we came to discover how all snowflakes are different. The fiction books in the project will lead to an understanding of what people do in snow once it has fallen to the ground.
