Our school is a gem nestled in a rural community in Limestone county. Most of our students are on free or reduced lunch. The area surrounding our school is mostly farmland. My students are beginning their academic careers and eager to learn. They are learning sponges....they absorb everything. They love technology and STEM.
My goal is to create an environment of learning.
I want my students to feel free to make mistake so that they can learn. I always share how I lost the spelling bee because I could not spell attitude. I explain that I have never forgot how to spell that word. I want them to make mistakes so that they will challenge themselves.
My Project
Lakeshore has designed great age appropriate STEM sets. The house, bridge and car building sets allows students to build many types of house. The students will never get bored with it.
Balls and Ramps is one of our state science standards and the Roll Coaster and magnetic board is an engaging way to involve students in building ramps.
Students will be able to be part of the lesson with STEM kits; it better than having them watch a teacher.
My teaching style allows my student to drive the direction of our sciences lessons. I want them to learn how to lead and work together.
