This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are very special to me because they are a group of diverse learners that strive to be successful. Although I have an array of students from many different economic backgrounds, they ALL are capable of achieving academic success, within the classroom. With that said, my future college grads are eager to learn and apply all that they have experienced, in the classroom, to other settings, to build a cultural climate of success. My students are our future leaders!!

My Project

My Champion Scholars will be given the opportunity to study and develop the tools of analyzing text through a cross curriculum lens for ELA and Social Studies. Not only will this novel enhance their ability to annotated and deconstruct text while developing the art and craft of reading, they will also be able to connect through ELA, Social Studies content, making them a prepared and resilient learned, across academics. Being gifted with a class set, allows ALL of my scholars the opportunity to read and prepare to take part in Socratic Seminars for in-depth literary analysis of text. Thus, building a foundation of scholarly achievement, with speaking and learning because they will have access to read!!!
