Developing Respectful Citizens Through Reading and Listening
My students need various books to teach lessons based on certain behaviors, materials to aid in math equivalency, sight word practice, and reading fluency.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students want the best for not only themselves, but for others as well. Hearing their words may be what they need to help learn how to interact with others and ways in which they can increase their verbal vocabulary.
My students are down to earth children who love to make others happy, whether it is through their ability to achieve goals they never thought possible, or the opportunity to go above and beyond not only in school but in their community as well.
Peace education is a large part of the Montessori education that I know my students can implement even in an urban environment with guidance and support from our schools' community.
My Project
My students will use these materials to continue to learn how to behave and respect others, even when at times it may be difficult to do so. I want my students to hear how they sound when they respond to others to help determine if it is respectful or not. The books will help aid my students in learning various ways to help deal with difficulties they may be having either in school or out in their community. The microphone will help my students to hear the language they are using and possibly even help others in their community to do the same as well.
Your donations will help to improve my classroom by allowing my students to not only hear how words can affect others, but read stories on how to help find ways in which they can grow as individuals.
