Developing Motor Skills and Coordination

My Students

I have ten classes of highly energetic kindergarten and pre-kindergarten students that I teach each day. They come in my door ready to expend energy!

The Covid quarantine has hugely impacted young children and their fine motor skills, gross motor skills and social skills.

My Project

The materials in this project are desperately needed to further develop coordination, fine motor skills, gross motor skills and socialization within the students I teach.

Quarantining has caused a huge decline in overall motor skills, coordination and peer socialization with this age group compared to the same age groups in the past.

These items will be used to teach physical education and general health and well-being to young children. All balls and scooters can be used in controlled game playing and free play activities. The ring toss, bean bag board, ball toss, knock down numbers and activity cards will be used to develop hand eye coordination, fine motor skills and gross motor skills.
