Help me give my students a head start on developing a deeper understanding and love for Mathematics!

Being labeled a Title I school can have an impact on the mindset of the parents, students, community, and teachers. The majority of my students come from single parent homes or homes where relatives have stepped in to help. With over 90% of the school population receiving free or reduced lunches, these students are often faced with challenges ranging from temporary housing, limited resources for food and clothes, and the inability to purchase needed supplies.
As a teacher, I have witnessed my students rise above the challenges and negative influences with hope and determination.
Students bring such a high level of determination and positive energy into my classroom each day and with each year. These remarkable students are my champions, and bring light and hope to me every day. I want to provide these fantastic students with the tools to produce and share their ideas and knowledge. Our students are like an apple tree. A beautiful apple tree will only continue to grow and prosper as long as we continue to water, feed, and nurture that tree.
I have seen students arrive to my class saying that Math is their least favorite subject. My response? Challenge accepted! Blessed with a teacher that shared the joys and revealed the secrets of mathematics, it is now my passion and mission to bring these students and parents to the bright side.
The era of the "drill and kill" fluency sheets is over!
They don't want to repeat or sing the same song every day about the multiplication tables. Through the use of ETA hand2mind Daily Math Fluency, students are introduced to and develop an understanding of mathematics. In their own word, students discover that math is actually puzzle games!
By spending just ten minutes a day, students are presented with a variety of mathematical equations and opportunities that encourage student discussion, uses mathematical vocabulary, and provides a challenge where the students see and receive immediate feedback.
