My students live in a rural community of about 2,000 residents. They may not realize it yet, but they are growing and learning in a very supportive and tight-knit community that cares about each of them.
In my classroom, I have 18 kindergartners of varying social, emotional, and academic needs.
They are creative, clever, and spontaneous! They have so much excitement for school and learning; it makes my job so enjoyable! My students are unique individuals with unlimited potential. It is my job to ignite their excitement for learning so they can reach their full potential!
My Project
My students would love to have pretend play animal toys in our kindergarten classroom. These toys which include a barn and farm animals, a play grooming/vet kit, and a horse care kit will teach my students about kindness and compassion towards animals as well as responsibility for caring for animals.
Young children learn best by imagining and doing.
Pretend play allows children to explore a variety of social roles; with these animal toys my kids will have the opportunity to role play being a pet owner, a groomer, and a vet. In addition to teaching kids about kindness and compassion, this project will foster creativity among my students. When students get the opportunity to pretend play they get to have experiences they may not have in real life. Please consider helping my students develop creativity, compassion, and kindness through play!
