Developing Fine And Visual Motor Skills During Remote Learning
Help me give my students the supplies they need to engage in tasks to develop their fine and visual motor skills to be successful in their remote learning. The play-doh and other manipulatives will make learning fun.
I work with pre-k to 5th-grade students with a variety of intellectual, motor, and sensory impairments. These students have mixed interests, abilities, and goals. My students are learning a variety of skills such as holding writing tools, drawing, writing, and sensory regulation. My students are working on building their fine motor, visual motor, and sensory processing skills to be as independent as possible when engaging in school activities.
These students love hands-on activities that allow them to manipulate objects while building their fine and visual-motor skills.
My students enjoy learning, although their learning styles and the environment in which they learn best vary. I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, individual and group work, and environmental adaptations to ensure each student’s needs are met. Each child is truly unique, and I am thankful and lucky to get to work with them and watch them grow.
My Project
These materials will allow my students to continue the growth and development of their fine and visual-motor skills. During remote learning, these materials can be used during our virtual sessions as well as independently outside of our class time. My students are motivated by hands-on activities. These materials will provide for hands-on engagement and independence with mastery of skills.
By donating to my project you will not only help to improve the fine and visual motor skills of students, you will ultimately help increase their independence and academic achievement.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and willing to participate when given access to various materials. With these materials, my students will be able to choose from a variety of items to manipulate with adult support and independently. The products I have selected will help my students by giving them various activities to choose from to assist with further developing their motor skills.
