My students are inquisitive, resourceful and eager to learn! Many come from low-income households and with a little extra help they can achieve great things! They genuinely care for one another and work together well. I have many competitive students who aim to do their best and this helps the others rise to that challenge.
We emphasize G.R.I.T - Growth, Resiliency, Integrity, Tenacity and my students work of this every day!
They have shown their willingness to work hard and turn in quality projects and I'm excited to push them to be the best versions of themselves.
My Project
How do you teach empathy to fifth graders? Through literature of course! Ever since I read the book Wonder, I've had a desire to use it as part of my ELA curriculum. This sweet, tender book about a boy with a facial deformity has a way of touching the heart of even the toughest kid and I can't wait to introduce it to my students! Your donation will help me fulfill my dream of creating a Wonder unit to use for years to come.
Sometimes it's the little things that make the big things possible.
Your donation will help enhance my students learning with things like sentence strips to teach vocabulary, a large magnetic classroom timer to teach time management, and a small book set of the great depression-era book Moon Over Manifest.
A fully funded project will enhance student learning, introduce empathy through literature, and increase student engagement in my classroom for years to come!
