All joking aside, my 6th grade ELA class is in desperate need of a class set of dictionaries. I am a brand new teacher with 85 students, many of which live in a FEMA housing development located a few miles away from our school. These materials will help in day to day activities and will be key in our weekly writing assignments. Many of my students, because of the hurricanes, do not have any type of reference materials at home and depend soley what our school has to offer. During the school year, the students will use these resources in weekly vocabulary searches. Students will also use these dictionaries in the editing stage of the writing process. My students will use these dictionaries to write a wide array of essays such as: realistic fiction, historic fiction, persuasive essays,short plays, ect. Thank you for your consideration.
