I teach 6th grade at Bass Elementary on the south side of Chicago. Due to lack of funding, my classroom does not have enough reference material to support my students' needs. Many of the students do not have dictionaries at home. We have been working hard to improve our vocabulary this year and the students are putting forth a great deal of effort. I would love to be able to provide my kids with the resources that they need and cannot afford. Merriam Webster has a language reference set that includes a dictionary, thesaurus, and a vocabulary builder! I would like to give this set to each of my 30 children so that they are able to improve their speaking, writing, and vocabulary skills. These books would help them in every aspect of their education. Please help me to give them this simple gift and to inspire them to love language.
