Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Everyone deserves to have their private information disposed of privately and respectfully.
My students are seventh and eighth graders with special needs ranging from Autism, emotional handicaps, cognitive impairments to ADHD.
Our school is a science, technology, engineering and mathematics magnet school effectively serving students who live in high poverty households. Ninety percent of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Through innovative programs, we are showing some of the most rapid growth in the state as measured by standardized test score improvement.
My Project
I am requesting 1 business-level document shredder to respectfully discard all of my students' confidential information regarding their legal Special Education services. By law, these documents are not to go into the general trash but without a proper shredder, we have to tear them into little pieces ourselves.
By supporting this project, you will have protected the privacy of all of my students and their families.
Their Special Education Individualized Education Plans contain confidential information that must be respected and protected.
