It happens as a daily occurrence, he walks up to me and quietly wraps his tiny arms around my body in a warm embrace. He is craving love and attention and knows that in my classroom hugs are always welcome. At our facility, many of the children come from low-income and extremely difficult home environments and all of them have one thing in common: they come from single-parent homes with working mothers who are also full-time students.
We are essentially their last opportunity for a foundational education before they enter Kindergarten.
We take that responsibility to heart. While they are with us in that classroom they learn about science, math, enhance their cognitive, social, and emotional development and most importantly they are loved.
Space is valuable in my classroom, so I need a storage shelf that is sturdy. This shelf will help to organize the room and keep the piles away. The storage trays will help us have individual spaces for our materials to keep our classroom more organized and have the materials where the students can see and easily access them.
This storage cubby will allow for smoother transitions during our daily lessons as well as small group instruction time.
In addition, it will help to eliminate clutter in the classroomand free up a lot of space and make the classroom more functional for the students.
