Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students I work with have great energy and are eager to learn! I teach at a Transitional Kindergarten - 8th Grade School. Many of my students are English learners and come from low socioeconomic status communities, which does not stop them from achieving their goals!
The diverse group of students I work with are truly remarkable as they persevere and inspire each other to continuously grow.
As we embrace a growth mindset, it warms my heart to hear students encouraging their peers to see the positive side. The class community we have built motivates all students to succeed.
My Project
As many of my students are high energy and active, they need the option to move throughout the classroom and choose a seat that is best for their learning style. I want to cater to all my students' needs to maximize engagement and achievement!
Do you remember when your teacher assigned your seat in every class?
Well in my class students get to pick their seat/spot in which they will be the most productive. The futon will be utilized by students who like to spread out while they work. The coffee table will serve as a "desk" in front of the futon when students need a place to write. Additionally, the bar table and stools will allow students different heights to sit or stand as they learn. Please help fund my project so my students can continue to love school and embrace their active qualities! This first-year teacher needs all the help she can get!
