I teach in a wonderful school that's located in a small, rural area. Our school is full of caring, inquisitive and amazing students. They brighten my day and make coming to work something that I love doing daily. I teach third grade and I cannot imagine a more perfect age group to work with. My students are at the age at which they are gaining independence, but are still eager to learn and soak up the world around them. I learn just as much from them as they do from me.
Benjamin Franklin once said, "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn." That is my goal for my kiddos each school year.
I want each of them to be totally engrossed and involved in the learning process so that their lives will be forever changed because of what they have learned.
My Project
We use small dry-erase boards on a DAILY basis in my classroom. From games, to review, to calendar math time, we are always using these little gems to write on. They provide such an easy way to jot down ideas or answer a question posed to the class. We use them as a whole group and in small-group instruction time. Over the years, dry-erase boards get really dirty. Our class set is in dire need of replacing, which shows how much they get used in 3rd grade!
Kids learn by doing, and these dry-erase materials ensure participation from each student.
