This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come into the school full of excitement. Before they enter the classroom, they are prompt with telling me the answer to a multiplication or division problem to get their brains ready for all the new and exciting materiel of the day.
I teach at a Title I School in Tempe, Arizona.
We try to provide as much support to our students as possible. Some students receive lunch bags sent home for the weekend and others are getting extra tutoring after school, as well as tutoring during school. Although my students face hardships outside of school, they try their best to keep positive and be the best them they can be.
My Project
My students are in need of the Chairback Buddy Pockets. We have received new desk this school year. These desk are smaller and do not have enough storage for their textbooks as well as their school supplies. The desk were supposed to come with a basket connected to it, that would have fit possibly two or three textbooks. Unfortunately, they did not come with any sort of baskets.
The seat pockets will allow storage for the children to place their pencils, glue sticks, white boards, and notebooks in.
This will also teach the students organization skills as well as being responsible for their materials inside of the seat pocket.
