This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Help us Dissect! The dissection materials we have in the classroom's are materials that are dated and make it impossible to enjoy our dissection experience.
My students are eager learners that enjoy the connection of a hands on experience.
They are high school students that lack the knowledge of science and yearn for a more memorable experience. They attend a low income, Title I school that have trouble obtaining the materials and resources they need to enhance a successful performance.
My Project
The resources that will be greatly appreciated for my classroom are dissection kits and specimens. My students will explore a unit in Genetics and Human Anatomy where we will talk about Huntington Disease. My student's will apply what they have learned about dissection terminology and compare a healthy brain to that of a diseased brain.
My project is very important to me because I want to enhance my student's learning experience by providing them with an opportunity to enjoy the lab and dissect a sheep's brain using the requested materials and resources for dissecting.
