My Students
My students, who will be using these materials, range from Kindergarten-5th grade and are boys and girls coming from several areas of town. For some, communication is extremely difficult. In this class, students need not worry about the "right" answer. This varied group of students, through art, have a totally different way to communicate!
Art transcends the limits of economic, social, intellectual and language barriers.
These students are an incredibly diverse group of students coming from all walks of life.
Their personalities come out in their artwork with every project we do.
My Project
With this project, the students will be creating a mosaic style wrap for a candle and will be adhering it by using a blow dryer.
They will need sharpies, wax paper that will melt around the candle, and the actual candles.
The experience of being able to create these candles is one that most of these students will not have outside of school.
The students will be looking at stained glass, mosaic art, discussing light, and making decisions about different color combinations.
I am especially excited about this projects because it provides an exciting and fun entrance into 3D art!
