Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I have instituted an activity in class that utilizes wipe off white boards during a significant portion of our day. I can see immediately if the student understands the concept and they can all do problems at the same time without using paper and wasting resources. Our math scores have skyrocketed and the self-paced students are advancing faster than I have ever seen them in my nine years of teaching special education. The problem, or concern, is that the pens I have are running dry at a rate of about 1 per student every three or four weeks. If the student happens to not put the cap on carefully it is useless the next day. I cannot keep up with that expense, but I want to keep up with using the boards. I would like to have a miniature stockpile of pens to use for my ten students for the remainder of the year.
