I am entering my 14th year of teaching and I have loved every minute of it. There are wonderful days and there are challenging days. However, my love for children and teaching never changes.
The smiles, the laughs, the light bulb moments are all signs of a happy and growing scholar.
My classroom is full of eager learners. My scholars are exceptional. They come to school to learn, play, and create. My scholars' needs vary in severity and area. They have behavioral needs, academic needs, and social needs; each as unique as the individual learner.
My Project
My leaders love to earn things for a job well done. They really dislike having privileges taken away. I am requesting an ETM machine with "debit cards" to teach my leaders about deposits and withdrawals. My leaders will deposit "money" based on task-completion and following classroom rules. They will have to withdrawal "money" when they make undesirable choices. With the swipe of a card on the ETM machine, deposits and withdrawals will take place.
I want my leaders to be prepared for their young adult lives by providing opportunities and experiences that reflect "real life".
This will make them more successful!
At the end of the week, the leaders will be able to shop for rewards based on their weekly successes. The ETM machine and "debit cards" will teach my leaders how to use a debit card, balance an account, and prepare them for the real world.
