My students need these items to begin a grade-level mail delivery service. The mailbox will be in the hallway, the book will be read to each class, & the mailbag will be used to deliver mail.

My Students

2nd graders can be amazing little writers! They love to share their thoughts with others. In second-grade they are learning how to communicate through verbal discourse and while writing.

This project will excite and motivate them to write, write, write!!!

While writing their letters they will be motivated to communicate their ideas and to share their hopes and dreams for the future with others. My hope is that they will also become better and more motivated readers while participating in this mailbox project.

My Project

I would like to give our second-graders more exposure to discourse with other students, social skills, grammar, and writing skills. I am looking to purchase a mailbox for our grade-level to begin a mail service for our students. We will encourage students to write friendly letters to each other throughout the school year, depositing them in the mailbox for delivery. Each of our 5 second-grade classrooms will take a turn to be mail carriers for the week and will deliver letters each morning, as the US Postal Service does. If this project is successful my future hope is to include students from all grade-levels and make this a schoolwide project, which will impact over 800 students. Can you please help me provide this great resource for our students?
