My class is made up of a diverse group of students who have chosen to take part in a program that will push them to excel in school. When I look at my classroom of 6th graders, I love seeing their love for learning. They come in every day excited to learn and see what is on the agenda for the day.
My students have not only requested to be challenged, but they expect it.
They opted in to our "Plus" program where the bar is put very high and they know they can reach it. This leads to a lot of growth mindset and learning to accept failures within our classroom.
My Project
We have received some materials for boxing in the past and would like to give more students opportunities to participate in this fitness activity. We would like to incorporate more self defense for our students into our boxing unit.
These supplies will not only support one class of 6th graders, but six separate classes.
We need some pool noodles for practicing different activities in both boxing and self defense. The gloves and hand wraps will help add to our supply in order to have more classes participate in all of the training and activities we have learned as teachers as well.
