Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
What I love about my students is their hunger to understand the world around them. Each student is so unique in their giftings and struggles, yet they are similar in that as I teach my students, I can see that each student genuinly desires to do well in their studies.
From shy to extra extrovert, there is a wide range of personalities in my classroom.
I have students who arrived from different countries this year in order to escape poverty caused by political turmoil and students whose families lost everything in a storm. I also have kiddos who were born and raised in our home city of Orlando. No matter where a student is from, I desire deeply to provide them activities that will engage them wholly. They deserve it!
My Project
Some of the resources I will use for this project are the Google 3D cardboard glasses alongside the Google Expeditions application via my IPad. The reason I chose these resources to build a project around is because our children are growing up in a world which is constantly increasing in technology. Therefore, I want to provide educational experiences to my students which engages them using innovative technology.
Google 3D glasses give my students an immersive learning experience which minimizes comprehension barriers caused by limited English language understanding.
The 3D experience would be used by our class when studying an array of scientific, geological, and historical topics. Topics of study include but are not limited to World War Two, the Everglades, and storm patterns.
