My Students

My students are helpful, energetic and excited to collaborate with each other. They are in the middle of shifting their definition of learning and incorporating a student-centered approach where they possess a hefty bit of ownership. They learn best with peer collaboration and technology (Chromebooks, iPads, etc). I want them to truly be the leaders of tomorrow and to achieve this I want them to have access to the best that education can offer today. Their curiosity is vast and their will to learn is strong. They've stepped up to the plate. Now they need to educational tools to become 21st century citizens.

My Project

Technology is so helpful to creating an engaging atmosphere for real-world collaboration. Students will use these Chromebooks to create infographics, edit videos/projects, Skype with experts around the world and so much more! Incorporating technology of this sort will open up so many doors for the classroom. My students have become experts with posters and markers; unfortunately the jobs of today require a technological component beyond this, let alone the jobs of tomorrow. Imagine students skyping with an expert on the Industrial Revolution to inform a mock infomercial about an invention of the era which they would digitally edit and, ultimately, share with the class via Google classroom -- that's the power of embedded technology!
